De temps en temps au cours de la semaine dernière, j’ai vu 3B7M dxpedition repéré sur le
DX Heat Cluster et la plupart du temps, soit je ne les ai pas entendus, soit ils étaient au niveau ou en dessous
du plancher de bruit. Je savais qu’ils étaient là car le pile-up était bel et bien vivant et répondait avec leurs indicatifs d’appel dans l’espoir de se retrouver dans le journal 3B7M.
Hier, ils ont été repérés sur 15 m à leur abreuvoir CW habituel de 21.005 et comme pour toutes les dxpedition, ils opéraient en split.

Renovation work continues on the infrastructure of the Petrel Joint Antarctic Base (WAP ARG-17) within the framework of its reopening as a permanent Station, during the 2022/23 Summer Antarctic Campaign.
The main advances in the building recovery, are focused on the reconditioning of the rooms and the extension of the sewage network of the main house. While the total restoration of the hangar, includes the reinforcement of the electrical network.
The complete repair of the road to the Main Power Plant, the demolition of the old power plant and the bases of disused communication towers, are part of this second phase of development together with the renovation of the landing strips and the disposal of waste. antarctics
For the construction of the maritime pier, personnel from the Naval Hydrography Service are carrying out bathymetry studies on Dundee Island.
Also, Petrel Base has already inaugurated its new small Chapel named “Santo Cura Brochero”.
Jose Gabriel del Rosario Brochero (16 March 1840 – 26 January 1914) was a Catholic priest who suffered leprosy throughout his life. He is known for his extensive work with the poor and the sick.. He became affectionately known as “the Gaucho priest” and the “cowboy priest”.
He was beatified on 14 September 2013 after a healing was recognized as a miracle attributed to him. Cardinal Angelo Amato, on the behalf of Pope Francis, presided over the beatification. Another miracle under investigation was approved in 2016 and a date for canonization was approved in a gathering of cardinals on 15 March 2016. Jose Gabriel del Rosario Brochero he was canonized as a saint on 16 October 2016.

Les travaux de rénovation se poursuivent sur l’infrastructure de la base antarctique conjointe Petrel (WAP ARG-17) dans le cadre de sa réouverture en tant que Station permanente, pendant la 2022/23Campagne Antarctique d’Été.
Les principales avancées dans la réhabilitation du bâtiment, se concentrent sur le reconditionnement des pièces et l’extension du réseau d’assainissement de la maison principale. Tandis que la restauration totale du hangar, comprend le renforcement du réseau électrique.

Pour la construction de la jetée maritime, le personnel du service d’hydrographie navale réalise des études de bathymétrie sur l’île de Dundee.
De plus, la Petrel Base a déjà inauguré sa nouvelle petite chapelle nommée ‘Santo Cura Brochero’.
Jose Gabriel del Rosario Brochero (16 mars 1840 – 26 janvier 1914) était un prêtre catholique qui a souffert de la lèpre tout au long de sa vie. Il est connu pour son travail considérable auprès des pauvres et des malades. Il est affectueusement surnommé ‘le prêtre Gaucho’ et le ‘prêtre cow-boy’.
Il a été béatifié le 14 septembre 2013 après qu’une guérison a été reconnue comme un miracle qui lui est attribué. Le cardinal Angelo Amato, au nom du pape François, a présidé la béatification. Un autre miracle sous enquête a été approuvé en 2016 et une date de canonisation a été approuvée lors d’un rassemblement de cardinaux le 15 mars 2016. José Gabriel del Rosario Brochero il a été canonisé comme saint le 16 octobre 2016.

[NEWS UPDATE] – Yesterday the team were were hit by a strong storm which damaged antennas. 1 x spider broken, 80m vertical and 1 x VDA fell. Besides that, there was a lot of water
everywhere in the ham shack; they had to shut down everything, and at night was a limited operation only on 30 and 40m. In addition to that, there were also problems with other antennas.
Team now starting to pack slowly, and tomorrow morning everything will go down gradually except 30 and 40m. At night only these bands. Team must be on the boat by Wednesday morning
(local), so 02.00 UTC QRT that day.
The pile-ups are strong. 20m is not a priority because 10m lasting late at night. Today, activating 20m a little bit, but everything is impossible. In addition, team should work on 160
& 80m tonight. Photos show QTH after the storm to see what it was like here. Disaster at night – we almost didn’t sleep. It was a matter of life rather than transmitting!

partout dans la cabane à radio ; ils ont dû tout arrêter, et la nuit c’était une opération limitée seulement sur 30 et 40m. En plus de cela, il y avait aussi des problèmes avec d’autres antennes.
L’équipe commence maintenant à ranger doucement, et demain matin tout va descendre progressivement sauf 30 et 40m. La nuit seulement ces bandes. L’équipe doit être sur le bateau mercredi matin
(local), donc 02h00 UTC QRT ce jour-là.
Les pile-ups sont forts. 20m n’est pas une priorité car 10m dure tard dans la nuit. Aujourd’hui, j’active un peu 20m, mais tout est impossible. De plus, l’équipe devrait travailler sur 160
& 80m ce soir. Les photos montrent QTH après la tempête pour voir comment c’était ici. Catastrophe la nuit – nous n’avons presque pas dormi. C’était une question de vie plutôt que de transmission !

(who know the island well), Severe Category 5 Cyclone Kevin
is within “touching distance” of Conway Reef. On the current path, it’s feared total destruction of the reef may occur:
Cyclone Kevin, expected as category 5 (160mph or about 260km/h) will hit directly Conway Reef DXCC shortly. Waves should reach about 12 meters
height. There is a possibility of total destruction over the surface of the reef sandbar. It means Conway Reef could disappear from the map. After the last massive deadly cyclone (Winston)
hit Conway Reef in 2016, All the “green stuff / vegetation is not existing anymore and the island lost over half of its size. The fishing vessel wreck was moved over 400m away from
south side of the reef and ended up on sandbar. Let’s see what will happen this time.
Cyclone Kevin already wreaked havoc on Vanuatu – YJ.

est à « distance de contact » de Conway Reef. Sur la trajectoire actuelle, on craint une destruction totale du récif :
Le cyclone Kevin, attendu en catégorie 5 (160 mph ou environ 260 km/h) frappera directement Conway Reef DXCC sous peu. Les vagues devraient atteindre environ 12 mètres
hauteur. Il existe une possibilité de destruction totale à la surface du banc de sable récifal. Cela signifie que Conway Reef pourrait disparaître de la carte. Après le dernier cyclone mortel massif (Winston)
a frappé Conway Reef en 2016, Tous les ‘trucs verts / la végétation n’existent plus et l’île a perdu plus de la moitié de sa taille. L’épave du bateau de pêche a été déplacée à plus de 400 m de
côté sud du récif et s’est retrouvé sur un banc de sable. Voyons ce qui se passera cette fois.

[NEWS UPDATE @ 0530Z] – 80, 000 QSOs in the log. Problems with low bands. After a strong storm, the 80m vertical has fallen. They didn’t operate CW due to high SWR but only FT8.
It’s fixed now. 160m is still a big disaster. Strong interference. Again only a few QSOs on FT8. The low bands are a problem at St Brandon. Neither Beverage nor EWE is listening.
There’s a mess from the generators. But the priority is the upper bands. 10m is open till 02.00 local times. Incredible pile-ups on 10, 12m. Over the weekend is ARRL SSB contest.
3B7M will be only on 17, 12 SSB and 10, 15 CW.
[NEWS UPDATE @ 0530Z] – 80 000 QSO dans le journal. Problèmes avec les bandes basses. Après un fort orage, la verticale de 80m est tombée. Ils n’ont pas fonctionné en CW en raison
d’un SWR élevé, mais uniquement en FT8. C’est réparé maintenant. 160m c’est quand même une grosse catastrophe. Forte interférence. Encore une fois seulement quelques QSO sur FT8. Les bandes basses sont un problème à St Brandon. Ni Beverage ni EWE n’écoutent. Il y a un gâchis des générateurs. Mais la priorité est aux bandes supérieures. 10m est ouvert jusqu’à 02h00 heure locale. Des carambolages incroyables sur 10, 12m. Au cours du week-end est le concours ARRL SSB. 3B7M sera uniquement sur 17, 12 SSB et 10, 15 CW.
