[NEWS UPDATE] – FT8WW is now history with over 50,000 QSOs on HF and about 1300 on QO-100. The geomagnetic measurement was very late today, so Thierry had to close
down earlier than anticipated. The last log will be uploaded tomorrow morning. If any issue, please contact Paul F6EXV on qsl.crozet@orange.fr

Paul also mentions that he would appreciate if people want to make an OQRS (whether direct or bureau) please do it quickly, so he can figure out how many
more QSL cards must be ordered from the printer.

[NEWS UPDATE] – FT8WW fait désormais partie de l’histoire avec plus de 50 000 QSO sur HF et environ 1300 sur QO-100. La mesure géomagnétique était très en retard aujourd’hui, donc Thierry a dû fermer

Paul mentionne également qu’il apprécierait que les gens veuillent faire un OQRS (que ce soit directement ou au bureau) s’il vous plaît faites-le rapidement, afin qu’il puisse déterminer combien
d’autres cartes QSL doivent être commandées auprès de l’imprimeur.

NEWS UPDATE – Dom 3Z9DX provides the latest info on the upcoming Rebel DX Group
DXpedition to Tarawa. 

Bula folks. We are doing final preparations for T30UN, Western Kiribati. 

We will have 2 x CW operators, 1 x SSB and 7 x FT8 stations. We will be joined by T33KC who just arrived from Banaba to help with everything for us.
We will be located in the northern tip of Tarawa. This place has no electricity, so we will run 3 generators. 

And now the important part: Is there anyone who is willing to donate used, simple amateur radio to Kaam T33T (IC-706? FT-857? TS-480?) or any other HF
radio? He is currently using an old HF radio which needs to be programmed before use. It has no S-meter, no SWR meter, nothing. I already donated to Kaam 3 antennas, 2 generators, tons
of coax, and now he will get a laptop and other things. I can cover shipping costs to Fiji if someone is willing to support him, and take it with us to Tarawa.

Tarawa, coral atoll of the Gilbert Islands and capital of Kiribati, in the west-central Pacific
Ocean. It lies 2,800 miles (4,500 km) northeast of Australia and is the most populous atoll in the Gilberts. Tarawa consists of a lagoon fringed by a V-shaped reef 22 miles (35 km)
long and made up of more than 30 islets.

Mec Bula. Nous effectuons les derniers préparatifs pour T30UN, Western Kiribati.

Nous aurons 2 opérateurs CW, 1 SSB et 7 stations FT8. Nous serons rejoints par T33KC qui vient d’arriver de Banaba pour nous aider avec tout.
Nous serons situés dans la pointe nord de Tarawa. Cet endroit n’a pas d’électricité, nous allons donc faire fonctionner 3 générateurs.

Et maintenant la partie importante : y a-t-il quelqu’un qui est prêt à faire don d’une simple radio amateur usagée à Kaam T33T (IC-706 ? FT-857 ? TS-480 ? ) ou tout autre HF
radio? Il utilise actuellement une vieille radio HF qui doit être programmée avant utilisation. Il n’a pas de S-mètre, pas de compteur SWR, rien. J’ai déjà donné à Kaam 3 antennes, 2 générateurs, des tonnes
de câble coaxial, et maintenant il obtiendra un ordinateur portable et d’autres choses. Je peux couvrir les frais d’expédition vers les Fidji si quelqu’un est prêt à le soutenir, et
l’emporter avec nous à Tarawa.

Tarawa, atoll corallien des îles Gilbert et capitale de Kiribati , dans le Pacifique centre-ouest
Océan. Il se trouve à 2 800 miles (4 500 km) au nord-est de l’Australie et est l’atoll le plus peuplé des Gilberts. Tarawa se compose d’un lagon bordé d’un récif en forme de V de 22 miles (35 km)
long et composé de plus de 30 îlots.

[UPCOMING] – All systems are go. Inventories have been checked, equipment tested and operator briefings
complete. Expect to hear VK9NT on the bands from 0800UTC on 17 March 23.

[MARCH 11] – “The VK9NT Team had our final round of readiness meetings (Zoom and phone) this last
week and we’re comfortable all the gear is tested, inventories checked and readiness processes in place. We expect to arrive on Norfolk Island at about 0330UTC on Friday 17th March and
(hopefully) have the FT8 station up by 0700UTC, closely followed by the CW and SSB stations. Please check our qrz.com page which will be our primary channel to release news updates as
they come to hand. We also have a Facebook page for more informal information sharing.
In a first for our team, we’ve setup a Discord channel for people
to alert us to 160 and 6m openings.”

[FEBRUARY 17] Chris VK3QB, Luke VK3HJ, Alan VK6CQ, Patrick VK2PN along with guest ops
Matt K0BBC and Tom VK3FTOM will be active from Norfolk Island as VK9NT during March 17-31, 2023. QRV on 160-6m. Contest callsign VJ9N has been allocated
and will be used by the team for the CQWW WPX Contest SSB on 25/26 March.

(espérons-le) avoir la station FT8 à 0700UTC, suivie de près par les stations CW et SSB. Veuillez consulter notre page qrz.com qui sera notre principal canal pour publier des mises à jour au fur et à mesure
ils viennent à portée de main. Nous avons également une page Facebook pour plus d’informations informelles partage.
Dans une première pour notre équipe, nous avons créé un canal Discord pour les personnes
pour nous alerter des ouvertures de 160 et 6 m.’

Finnish side of the island is part of the Municipality of Hammarland and is the westernmost land point of Finland. The Swedish part of the island is itself divided by two counties

NEWS UPDATE – Info from Phil, FK1TS / C21TS

It took some time to get everything sorted to visit Nauru and at the moment they are in the middle of a big COVID outbreak, so what I can and can’t do remains somewhat
fluid. I’m staying at the only hotel that answered my emails and I don’t know what I will be able to put up antenna wise. Will see when I get there but will take a few options with me,
mostly end-fed. I am only taking this time around my FT-891 barefoot and a trusty HP laptop. With a PowerWerx PSU. I have my LoTW certificate for C21TS but nothing is going to happen
until I return home. At this stage no plans to use Club Log this time around. Look for me on Sunday the 19th on high bands with some luck.

MARCH 11

I will be in Nauru from March 18th the 24th 2023. So 6 days on the ground. There is a lot of unknowns but I will have my FT-891 plus my trusty HyEnd Endfed with 22m wire
and will take 44 metre wire also. And just in case all else fails a 6m /10m mobile whip with mag base. Worst case scenario I might pop up on 6m and 10m only. Am hoping I can string up
some wire though. I will find some way to get updates – probably via a Facebook page or whatever works from there – as internet is a bit of an unknown at this stage. This will be FT8 only,
don’t ask for SSB or CW. No skeds. I will be using MSHV on secondaries in multi stream mode. If all goes well I will be moving to Nauru for an extended period, as in more than 1 year
some time after June this year.

Il a fallu un certain temps pour que tout soit trié pour visiter Nauru et en ce moment ils sont au milieu d’une grande épidémie de COVID, donc ce que je peux et ne peux pas faire reste un peu
fluide. Je loge dans le seul hôtel qui a répondu à mes mails et je ne sais pas ce que je pourrai mettre en place au niveau antenne. Je verrai quand j’y arriverai mais prendrai quelques options avec moi,
principalement alimentés en bout. Je ne prends cette fois que mon FT-891 pieds nus et un ordinateur portable HP fidèle. Avec une alimentation PowerWerx. J’ai mon certificat LoTW pour C21TS mais rien ne va se passer
jusqu’à mon retour à la maison. À ce stade, il n’est pas prévu d’utiliser Club Log cette fois-ci. Cherchez-moi le dimanche 19 sur les bandes hautes avec un peu de chance.

et prendra également 44 mètres de fil. Et juste au cas où tout le reste échouerait, un fouet mobile de 6 m/10 m avec base magnétique. Dans le pire des cas, je pourrais apparaître uniquement sur 6m et 10m. J’espère pouvoir enchaîner
un peu de fil quand même. Je trouverai un moyen d’obtenir des mises à jour – probablement via une page Facebook ou tout ce qui fonctionne à partir de là – car Internet est un peu inconnu à ce stade. Ce sera uniquement FT8,
ne demandez pas SSB ou CW. Pas de skis. J’utiliserai MSHV sur des secondaires en mode multi-flux. Si tout se passe bien, je déménagerai à Nauru pour une période prolongée, comme dans plus d’un an
quelque temps après juin de cette année.

W.A.P. Worldwide Antarctic Program

7th March 1948-7th March 2023. 
Established on March 7, 1948  Macca celebrates the 75th anniversary of its foundation.

In the early hours of the morning of 7th March 1948, HMALST 3501 (later renamed HMAS Labuan) anchors at Buckles Bay, Macquarie Island 54° 29′ 56″ South, 158° 56′ 17″ East.

The ANARE team had arrived to establish a base that was to be permanently occupied for the next 75 years. The ANARE Club pays tribute to the 1306 men and women expeditioners who have wintered there during these 75 years.
The Voyage Leader of the 1948 Expedition, and Captain of the Ship, was Lieutenant Commander George Dixon

Macquarie Island is located half way between Tasmania and Antarctica and a Station was established on the “green sponge” in 1948. The Island was used as a half way point to establish the first radio link between Australia and Antarctica during Sir Douglas Mawson’s 1911 expedition.
The Macquarie Island Station (WAP AUS-Ø8) ,  commonly called Macca,  is a permanent Australian Subantarctic Research Base, managed by the Australian Antarctic Division (AAD). The station lies at the base of Wireless Hill, between two bays on the isthmus at the northern end of the island.

Aux premières heures du matin du 7 mars 1948, HMALST 3501 (plus tard renommé HMAS Labuan) jette l’ancre à Buckles Bay, Île Macquarie 54° 29′ 56″ Sud, 158° 56′ 17″ Est.

L’équipe ANARE était arrivée pour établir une base qui devait être occupée en permanence pendant les 75 prochaines années. Le Club ANARE rend hommage aux 1306 expéditionnaires hommes et femmes qui y ont hiverné durant ces 75 années.

L’île Macquarie est située à mi-chemin entre la Tasmanie et l’Antarctique et une station a été établie sur ‘l’éponge verte’ en 1948. L’île a été utilisée comme point à mi-chemin pour établir la première liaison radio entre L’Australie et l’Antarctique lors de l’expédition de Sir Douglas Mawson en 1911.
La station de l’île Macquarie (WAP AUS-Ø8),  communément appelée Macca, est une station subantarctique australienne permanente Base de recherche, gérée par la Division antarctique australienne (AAD). La station se trouve au pied de Wireless Hill, entre deux baies sur l’isthme à l’extrémité nord de l’île.
