Southgate Amateur Radio News reports that, on November 3, 2020, German TV broadcaster WDR aired a news story about radio amateur Theresa DC1TH who is part of
the Neumayer-III Base 2021/22 overwintering crew.
She is expected to be on-the-air from Antarctica with the callsign DPØGVN using the QO-100 geostationary satellite amateur radio transponder.
Theresa DC1TH visited AMSAT-DL at the amateur radio facility at the Bochum radio observatory for some brief training in the use of QO-100 before traveling to the Neumayer III Station.
AMSAT-DL provided the QO-100 satellite ground station for DPØGVN nearly a year ago, it has been operated by Roman HB9HCF.

Southgate Amateur Radio News rapporte que, le 3 novembre 2020, la chaîne de télévision allemande WDR a diffusé un reportage sur la radio amateur Theresa DC1TH qui fait partie de
l’équipage d’hivernage de la Base Neumayer-III 2021/22.
Elle devrait être en ondes depuis l’Antarctique avec l’indicatif DPØGVN en utilisant le transpondeur radio amateur par satellite géostationnaire QO-100.

DC1TH a visité AMSAT-DL à l’installation de radio amateur de l’observatoire radio de Bochum pour une brève formation à l’utilisation du QO-100 avant de se rendre à la station Neumayer III.
AMSAT-DL a fourni la station sol satellite QO-100 pour DPØGVN il y a près d’un an, elle a été exploitée par Roman HB9HCF.

Henry, NL0H got in touch to say he’s finally back on the air from St. Lawrence Island NA-040. This is now his main station and residence. QRV mainly on FT8 due to the amount of RF noise. Best band is 80m (less noise on that band). QSL via M0OXO. No scheduled contacts – just on the air now and then and probably quite a lot during this winter because of darkness and not getting outside so much.

Following the sad news that John, ON4UN recently passed away, we noticed a comment left by DX-World reader, Saki DD5XX. In the comment, he provided a link to a video clip (above) of the 1997 VK0IR Heard Island DXpedition where it so happens that ON4UN was the very first contact in the log. In the video he is talking to Ralph, VK0IR – another DX great. We thought this was a pretty fitting tribute and shows the respect and high esteem in which John was held.

laissé par le lecteur DX-World, Saki DD5XX. Dans le commentaire, il a fourni un lien vers un clip vidéo (ci-dessus) de l’édition 1997 VK0IR Heard Island DX où il se trouve que ON4UN était le très
premier contact dans le journal. Dans la vidéo, il parle à Ralph, VK0IR – un autre grand DX. Nous avons pensé que c’était un hommage assez approprié et montre le respect et la haute estime de
que John a eu lieu.

QUICK UPDATE – Nobby confirms that the license for 8Q7CQ will not be issued until next year. It is reserved and 60m will (hopefully) also be added to the license. He will use an FT450D, amplifier and Butternut vertical. QSL via M0OXO.
OCTOBER 24, 2020 – Nobby, G0VJG informs DX-World that he will be QRV from Reethi Faru resort, Maldives during January 14-29, 2021. QRV on SSB and Digi; 80-10m. He hopes to again be active as 8Q7CQ, but still waiting on license.
MISE À JOUR RAPIDE – Nobby confirme que la licence de 8Q7CQ ne sera délivrée que l’année prochaine. Il est réservé et 60m sera (espérons-le) également
