NEWS UPDATE – Information has come to light that on February 25 & 26 this year, a pirate station operating as Elham, 5A0YL was active on FT8.
Abubaker, 5A1AL confirmed to Zorro JH1AJT that Elham had not been active at all during these dates and it was most certainly a faker. Sadly, many QSOs were made with EU and more than 200 alone with JA. Zorro mentions that if you have any questions, you can also ask Abubaker.
JANUARY 26, 2021 – Although not active since last October, Elham 5A0YL has recently updated her QRZ page with some info:
I apologize for the delay in sending QSL cards out lately. Because of the never ending conflict in Libya, restrictions because of COVID-19, no flights and post between 5A and most countries. Additionally, more than 20 hours daily without electricity makes life here really hard.
Despite all these circumstances, I will be on the air when there is electricity in my area. I am new into amateur radio and looking forward to learning more about the magic of our hobby. Thanks go to Abubaker, 5A1AL who introduced me into amateur radio, he spends a lot of time to teach me and help me get my license.
Looking forward to meeting you on the amateur radio bands; my favourite mode is SSB. Please be patient with me on the bands.
SEPTEMBER 16, 2018 — Earlier today, a new YL op from Libya showed on 20m SSB. DX-World checked with Abubaker, 5A1AL and he confirmed her name is Elham from Tripoli and she is still learning to operate. Abubaker mentioned more info on 5A0YL will be posted on QRZ.com.

MISE À JOUR DES NOUVELLES – Des informations ont été révélées que les 25 et 26 février de cette année, une station pirate opérant sous le nom d’Elham, 5A0YL était actif sur FT8.
Abubaker, 5A1AL a confirmé à Zorro JH1AJT qu’Elham n’avait pas du tout été actif pendant ces dates et que c’était très certainement un faux. Malheureusement, de nombreux QSO ont été réalisés avec l’UE et plus de 200 seuls avec JA. Zorro mentionne que si vous avez des questions, vous pouvez également demander à Abubaker.
26 JANVIER 2021 – Bien que non active depuis octobre dernier, Elham 5A0YL a récemment mis à jour sa page QRZ avec quelques informations:
Je m’excuse pour le retard dans l’envoi des cartes QSL ces derniers temps. En raison du conflit sans fin en Libye, des restrictions en raison du COVID-19, pas de vols et de poste entre 5A et la plupart des pays. De plus, plus de 20 heures par jour sans électricité rendent la vie ici très difficile.
Malgré toutes ces circonstances, je serai en ondes lorsqu’il y aura de l’électricité dans ma région. Je suis nouveau dans la radio amateur et j’ai hâte d’en apprendre davantage sur la magie de notre passe-temps. Merci à Abubaker, 5A1AL qui m’a initié à la radio amateur, il passe beaucoup de temps à m’apprendre et à m’aider à obtenir ma licence.
Au plaisir de vous rencontrer sur les bandes de radio amateur; mon mode préféré est SSB. Soyez patient avec moi sur les bandes.
16 SEPTEMBRE 2018 – Plus tôt dans la journée, une nouvelle opération YL de Libye a été diffusée sur 20m SSB. DX-World a vérifié avec Abubaker, 5A1AL et il a confirmé que son nom est Elham de Tripoli et qu’elle apprend toujours à fonctionner. Abubaker a mentionné que plus d’informations sur 5A0YL seront publiées sur QRZ.com.
